BACA, Nicholas Cade


Nicholas Cade Baca, 15, died Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2002. Cade was born Jan. 8, 1987, in Show Low, Ariz., to La Dawn Hancock and Johnnie Baca and lived in San Angelo for the past 10 years. He is survived by his mother and father; his brothers, Johnnie Baca II, age 16, of Owingsville, Ky., and Logan Tanner Sturgeon, age 7, of San Angelo; his maternal grandparents, Donna and Jim Osborne of Taylor, Ariz.; his paternal grandparents, Ernestina Garcia of Owingsville, Ky., and Ralph Baca of Snowflake, Ariz.; and two great-grandmothers, Melvina Rogers of Taylor, Ariz., and Magdalena Garcia of Snowflake, Ariz. Cade attended Bonham Elementary and was an eighth grader at Lee Junior High where he enjoyed orchestra. He also loved camping and activities as a Boy Scout with Troop 313. A rosary was held Sunday evening, March 3, at 7 p.m. at Johnson's Funeral Home. A viewing will be held March 4, from 2 to 3:30 p.m. in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints chapel at 4475 Southwest Blvd., with funeral service following at 4 p.m. Burial will be in Arizona. Cade was a fun, kind and handsome young man with a great sense of humor and a love in his heart that touched many lives. "I'd like to express my most heartfelt gratitude for the concern and prayers that have been shown to our family at this time," La Dawn Hancock. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made on Cade's behalf to the Lee Junior High School Orchestra in care of San Angelo National Bank.
