William D. “Bill” Kramer, 87, of Macomb, Illinois, formerly of Flagstaff, AZ passed away at 7:45 AM Monday March 4, 2013 at Bickford Cottage in Macomb.
He was born April 11, 1925 in Youngstown, Ohio to John T. and Harriet Johnson Kramer; he married Catherine Genevieve Carson on September 28, 1953. She preceded him in death on Aug. 2, 2007.
He was also preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother; Jack Kramer, and 1 great nephew Nicholas Inman.
He is survived by 5 nephews; Larry (Debbie) Inman of Monroe, North Carolina, David (Sandy) Cochenour of Maryville, Tennessee, Michael (Melissa) Inman of Macomb, Illinois David (Nancy) Kramer Chagrin Falls, Ohio, J. Bruce (Margery) Kramer of Poway, California 3 nieces; Milinda (Bernie) Potter of Avon, Illinois, Debbie (Steve) Fugle of Cedar, Texas Laurie Kramer of Midland, Michigan, 26 great nieces and nephews and 17 great-great nieces and nephews.
He served in the Navy during WWII.
Bill worked in sales and public relations for Chevron Oil Company for over 30 years.
Bill lived in Arizona and California and in 1971 worked for Chevron on the Trans-Alaska Pipeline.
He retired to Flagstaff Arizona and moved to Macomb, Illinois in 2006.
He was a member of the Elks Club in Arizona, St. Pius X Church in Flagstaff and St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Macomb, IL. He also served on the Flagstaff Symphony Board.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 AM Thursday March 7, 2013 at St. Paul’s Church in Macomb, with Monsignor Richard Pricco officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6:30 PM-8:00 PM at the Dodsworth-Piper-Wallen Funeral Home. A Wake service will be held at 8 PM.
