Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Posted: Thursday, March 7, 2013 - Alta Lee Neal Martinuz Donahue, 70, of Lake Havasu City, passed away peacefully Feb. 27, 2013 at Kindred Care in Las Vegas, Nev. She was greatly loved and will be remembered and missed by all of her family and friends. Alta was born Nov. 28, 1942, in Texas, to M.C. and Madge (Roman) Neal, and was raised in Tennessee. Alta was a caring wife, mother, sister, aunt and grandmother, who gave her love freely to her family and many friends. She was a volunteer and an inspiration to those in her COPD support group in Lake Havasu City. She attended Ridgley High School, class of 1960, was a realtor and worked as a respected bartender in Georgia and Florida. She was President of the American Legion Auxiliary in Florida before moving to Lake Havasu City for health reasons. Alta was preceded in death by her parents, M.C. and Madge Neal; her step-mother, Fannie Mae Phebus Neal; her step-brother, Norman (Mary Shull) Phebus. Alta leaves her husband, Michael Donahue; a daughter, Mickey Veach Hooper; two sons, Richard Moses and Richard McIntyre II; her grandchildren, Heather Moses and Ronald Moses, and her great-grandson, Jake; her two sisters, Barbara Neal Burrus and Ruth Phebus McCastlain; a niece, Margie Burrus Lathem and three nephews, Mike Burrus, Steve McCastlain and Michael McCastlain. Alta also leaves behind a host of friends and extended family members. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the International COPD Coalition, www.internationalcopd.org. No formal service arrangements have been made at this time.
