Vistoso Funeral Home, Oro Valley, Arizona Charlotte Marie Williamson June 19, 1941 - February 2, 2013 Charlotte's Life Legacy Charlotte Marie Williamson (nee Favretto), of SaddleBrooke, AZ passed away on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at Casa de la Luz Hospice in Tucson, AZ. Charlotte was born on June 19, 1941 in San Francisco, CA the daughter of Harry and Yolanda (nee Delucchi) Favretto. Charlotte lived her early childhood in the North Beach area of San Francisco until the age of nine when her family moved across the Bay to San Leandro, CA. She always expressed a strong desire to travel, seek adventure, and to discover and meet with people of diverse cultural backgrounds. She graduated from San Leandro High School in January, 1960. Charlotte married her husband, Clarence, in 1960 on her 19th birthday and moved to Monterey, CA where her first son Robert was born. Still at the tender age of 19, she was granted a high level security clearance from the United States Government. Thus began her quest for travel, adventure and thrills of a lifetime. She then traveled to Europe with her baby to join her husband. Charlotte eventually became immersed into several critical events of the Cold War between the United States and the Soviet Union, including the last major Berlin crisis and the Cuban Missile Crisis in October, 1962. Following its peaceful resolution, she moved from Washington D.C. back to the San Francisco Bay Area with her husband and baby. She often said her three year involvement and travels during this period of her life provided her with more adventure, travel, and thrills of a lifetime than she ever dreamed. When this period of her life came to a close, she was still only 21 years old. Charlotte developed a passion for fashion and interior decorating. She employed this talent with the many moves she enjoyed while being the consummate GE corporate wife for nearly 40 years. Many moves, many travels again, and many new friends from Coast to Coast and abroad continued to fulfill her dreams of adventure and multicultural engagements. A few of these encounters included living in New England, Texas, and in and out of Northern and Southern California several times. It was during the early part of this period in her life that her second son, James, was born on September 18, 1966 in Castro Valley, CA. Robert was growing up and in school now, so James became her second constant companion. Charlotte's passion for style, flair, and fashion was highlighted in Texas where she worked part time as an Associate and Consultant in the Designer Salon of Wolfe Bros. where she modeled their designer apparel and, for a short time, those of Nieman Marcus in Dallas, Texas. Charlotte never stopped enjoying her travels here in the US and abroad. One of her many favorites included visiting the Vatican and escaping to the Isle of Capri on a special boating trip into the cave of the Blue Grotto while the skiff captain sang to her the lovely Italian song, "Santa Lucia". She also loved being in the Tropics and made many trips there. Her favorite was her beautiful Hawaiian Islands, where she loved the people, embraced their culture and heritage, and was proud to proclaim that she was a true "Hawaiian at Heart". As she grew older, Grandma Charlotte was especially drawn to her grandbabies and with much pride she loved every minute with them. Charlotte's many travels both here and abroad brought her face to face with her dreams, and she loved every moment of her life. She especially loved the many friends she made along her life's journey, and they all loved her in return. May she continue to fulfill those dreams in her eternal life.
