GUTIERREZ, Joe

The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona, Tuesday, March 12, 2013 Joe Gutierrez of Cordes Junction, Ariz., passed away on March 8, 2013. He was born in Phoenix, Ariz., on Aug. 24, 1929, to Jose and Asuncion Gutierrez. Joe and June Snyder were married in 1952 and had three children, Art Gutierrez (Wendy), Valarie Madrid (Jim) and Katherine Gutierrez. Joe was preceded in death by his wife June and his daughter Kathy. Joe was a loving grandfather to Paul Gutierrez, Mike Gutierrez (Naomi), Lisa Gutierrez, Tanya Madrid, Annie Garcia (Frankie) and Luke Hines. He was also a loving great-grandfather to 14. Joe proudly served his country during WWII and told his stories often. After serving in the army, Joe became a lather, carpenter and homebuilder. The saying "If you love your job you never work a day in your life" applied to Joe. He will be remembered for his love and loyalty to his family and friends, for never saying no when someone needed help, and for always having time to sit down and talk a while.
