LAMPKIN-BOURNAZOS, Nancy Jo

(Maiden Name: Peck)

Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Posted: Wednesday, March 13, 2013 - Our greatest friend, mother and grandmother, Nancy Jo Lampkin-Bournazos, lost her life March 7, 2013 at 11:48 p.m. due to difficulties with unexpected illnesses. She spent her last few years living in Palmdale, Calif., where her very close friends at the VFW and Desert Living Senior Center kept her young and vibrant. On Nov. 27, 2012, her daughter, Diane, brought her back to her old hometown of Lake Havasu City to take care of her. Although her sudden death had deeply saddened all of her friends, family and every heart she's ever touched, we rejoice in her long loving memory. She lived the life she always wanted, from being President of the Ladies of Auxiliary from 2011 to 2012, being a member of the VFW, singing her heart out on karaoke, dancing the night away, laughing and reminiscing with close friends, spending quality time with family and her greatest accomplishment of all, being a mother and grandmother. She was born March 22, 1938, from mother, Norma Hanson and father, Joe Peck, in North Hollywood, Calif. She was preceded in death by her mother and father; her husbands, John "Jack" Lampkin and George Bournazos; and sister, Shirley Thede. She is survived by her children, Gordon Lampkin, Riverside, Calif., Diane (Kevin) Doyle, Lake Havasu City, brother, Joe Peck, Northridge, Calif.; sister-in-law, Sue Purcell, Mission Viejo, Calif.; niece and nephew, Jennifer and Jeffrey Thede, Northridge, Calif.; her greatest joys, her grandchildren, Mathew, Stacey and Shawn Doyle, Lake Havasu City; and all her very close friends at the VFW and Desert Senior Living Center in Palmdale, Calif. A celebration of Nancy's life will be Sunday, at 2 p.m. at the Doyle residence for friends and family only. Thoughts and condolences can be sent to Nancy Jo’s family at www.lietz-frazefuneralhome.com. Arrangements were placed under the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home & Crematory.
