Fred Reiser passed away March 5, 2013 in his home with his loving wife and family by his side, after a long battle with cancer.
Fred was born March 8, 1933, to Frederick and Margaret Reiser in Union City, N.J. Fred was enlisted in the USAF where he met and married the love of his life, Beverly Monahan, July 7, 1955, in Houlton, Maine. Upon his honorable discharge from the USAF, he went on to become an officer for the District of Columbia Police Department, Special Office Division, in Washington, D.C. He retired in 1978, and moved his family to Lake Havasu City. Fred continued to work in the security field at McCulloch Corp., Hydro Dynamics and Campbell Boats.
When Fred was not working, he enjoyed many cruises with his wife, as well as travels to Ireland and Scotland.
Fred was an avid fan of the New York Giants and the Los Angeles Dodgers, following them from the time they were the New York Dodgers.
Fred’s most enjoyable pastime was making people laugh. There was seldom a time when he did not have a joke or story ready to make everyone laugh. His quick wit and humor will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Fred is survived by Beverly, his loving wife of 57 years. He is also survived by two daughters, Karen Staples, of Fayetteville, N.C., Valerie Reiser, of Lake Havasu City; and two grandsons, Matthew and Daniel Foster.
