The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 03/15/2013 Paul E. Sadler, M.D., 90, died Friday, March 8, 2013, at the Beehive Home in Eagar. He was born July 7, 1922, in Muskogee, Okla., the son of Edward Sadler and Alta Robertson Sadler. Dr. Sadler served his country in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II. He loved the outdoors and traveled extensively. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, camping, hiking, fishing, hunting and skiing. He also enjoyed participating in many sports, especially tennis, and was an avid Oklahoma Sooner fan. Dr. Sadler was a dedicated anesthesiologist, serving God’s children for over 40 years at major Phoenix hospitals and was selected to participate in Arizona’s first open heart surgery. A loyal friend and devoted father, Dr. Sadler made many wonderful acquaintances throughout his life. Dr. Sadler is survived by his children: Michael (Monica) Sadler of Paradise Valley, Kurt (Marcelo) Sadler of Phoenix, Teresa Becker (Gus “Bud”) of Springerville, Max (Meg) Sadler of Springerville, Clint Sadler of Blue River; Navajo sons: Vern Gilbert and Tom Smith; sister Gwen Gibson; five grandchildren: Christina Sadler Johnson, Naomi Cherry, Jon Macsen Sadler Jr., Levi Cherry, Isaiah Sadler and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brothers, John “Buck” Sadler, Truitt Sadler, sister Lucylle Salmon and grandson Ian Sadler. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 15, at the Community Presbyterian Church in Springerville. He will be escorted by his children to his final resting place in Muskogee, Okla.
