Arizona Daily Sun, Flagstaff, Arizona, February 05, 2008 Santiago David Lucero, 64, of Camp Verde, died Friday, Feb. 1, 2008. Mr. Lucero was a former Flagstaff resident. He was fun loving, enjoyed life, family and friends. He will be missed for his charismatic way. He was fun to be around and made the best of what went his way. He touched so many lives and will long be remembered by those who knew him. He was loved and will be missed greatly, but friends and family find tremendous peace in the knowledge of knowing where he has gone. He is survived by his mother, Rosa R. Lucero; children Deborah Leyva (Mario), Jimmy Lucero, Patricia Lucero Madrid and Lisa (Henry) Dominguez; sisters Vera Baca, Mary Ann Lucero and Jennie Gonzales (Manuel Fred); an aunt and uncle; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Rosary and Memorial Mass will be Thursday, at noon, at Immaculate Conception Parish, 700 N. Bill Gray Road, in Cottonwood. He was born February 4, 1943 in McNary, Arizona, the son of Santiago A. and Rosa Lucero. He was a graduate of Flagstaff schools. He served his country in the Army. David worked for many years as a self employed truck driver. His hobbies included mechanics, fishing, camping, cars and the casino. Being with family and friends was very important to him. He is survived by his mother, Rosa R. Lucero of Cottonwood; a son, Jimmy Lucero of Camp Verde; three daughters, Deborah Leyva (and her husband Mario) of Surprise, Trisha Lucero of Cottonwood and Lisa Dominguez; three sisters, Vera Baca of Cottonwood, Mary Ann Lucero of Camp Verde and Jennie Gonzales (and her husband Manuel "Fred") of Cottonwood; an aunt Amparo (and her husband Manuel) Encisco of Cottonwood and uncle Cecilo Trill of Flagstaff; eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held at Immaculate Conception Church Thursday, February 7 starting at 12 noon. Rosary at 12:30. A Funeral Mass will be held at 1 PM.
