HIGLEY, Gail D.

The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona, Friday, March 15, 2013 Gail D. Higley, 60, passed away March 9, 2013, after a valiant battle with breast cancer. She was born on March 6, 1953, in upstate New York. Gail was a local Prescott businesswoman as an owner of Ravencrest Homes. Her goal in building was the building of relationships with clients, vendors and the team of subcontractors. Witnessing the friends who have reached out to us during this time of grief, it is obvious that she was a huge success. Her greatest source of joy lately was the time she spent with her "granddaughter" Aspen. Whether having a tea party or trips to the zoo, her life was brighter, her soul felt younger because she was blessed to see life through a 2-year-old's eyes. Gail is survived by her son, Rob Higley; her "daughter and best friend" Audra Hey; "granddaughter" Aspen Hey; and countless brothers, sisters and friends that she gathered over the years. One of her favorite quotes seems appropriate ... "There is sacredness in tears. They are not the mark of weakness, but of power. They speak more eloquently then ten thousand tongues. They are messengers of overwhelming grief and of unspeakable love." - Washington Irving So, though we grieve for the loss, she left us a gift of many friends, and that is a blessing because we can find comfort among each other. A celebration of life is planned between 1 and 3 p.m. Saturday, March 23, 2013, at Fain Park in Prescott, Valley, Ariz. In lieu of gifts or flowers we ask that anyone wishing to contribute to the memory of Gail should consider a gift to Hospice Family Care, Prescott Ariz., which took such wonderful care of her and the family during her final hours or contribute to the Susan G. Komen foundation and join us in continuing this fight against breast cancer. Information provided by survivors.
