LAING, Charles W. (Chuck)


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 03/19/2013 Charles W. “Chuck” Laing, 70, died peacefully March 14, 2013, of natural causes. He was born Oct. 7, 1942. Chuck was a long time resident of Eagar, where he retired from the U.S. Forest Service. Chuck was a devoted father and grandfather and is survived by his two children and grandson. Chuck served as a shining example to his family and friends as he dedicated over 40 years of his life in service to his country. Chuck’s true passion was found within the U.S. Forest Service, where he was stationed throughout the Southern United States. Chuck was also a United States Marine and a veteran of the Vietnam War, where he received multiple citations and accommodations for service and valor. Chuck will always be remembered for his fondness of the mountains and forests he worked so hard to protect, his loyalty and allegiance to his country, his commitment to his friends and his undying love to his family. He was a man of faith and a devout Christian, whose steadfast support to the church and its congregation will be missed. He truly encapsulated the Marines motto “Semper Fidelis,” Always Faithful.
