West Valley View, Avondale, Arizona, Friday, March 22, 2013 Josephine Amavisca Chudy, 86, of west Phoenix died March 18, 2013, at Hospice of the Valley in Goodyear. Mrs. Chudy was born June 30, 1926, in Agua Caliente. She owned and operated Sentinel Café in the 1950s before moving to Gila Bend and running Old Miller's Café in the 1960s. Before retiring, she was a cook at the Gila Bend Community Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, John J. Chudy; one son, Victor Chudy; and one daughter, Annette Chudy. She is survived by three daughters, Juanita Lawson of Phoenix, Mary Ellen McKeever of Phoenix and Rose Anna Conner of Sentinel; two sons, Robert J. Chudy of Chandler, John J. Chudy Jr. of Dateland; four brothers; two sisters; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. today at St. Henry's Catholic Church, 24750 W. Lower Buckeye Road in Buckeye. Interment will follow at Louis B. Hazelton Cemetery, 23100 W. Broadway Road in Buckeye. The Rev. J. Kosco will officiate. Services were handled by Ganley's Buckeye Funeral Home.
