Myrtle Leona Matthews Gilliam, 78, went to heaven Tuesday, March 19, 2013, in Mesa. She was born April 1, 1934, in Daisy, Okla., the daughter of Cephus E. Matthews and Thelma M. Walker Matthews.
Myrtle loved to garden and loved her family. She never met a stranger. She loved get-togethers, loved her God and served Him well.
Myrtle is survived by her sons: John C. Gilliam, Robert L. Gilliam; daughters: Wanda Jean Stevens, Rhonda June Lund, Nona Lee Cunniff; sisters: Chriss Krantz, Shirley McPherson; brother George (Budge) Matthews; 15 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bob Gilliam and sister Mary Sue Walker.
Graveside services were held March 23 at the Eagar Cemetery.
