Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home, Prescott, Arizona Anthony "Tony" Stanley Phillips February 24, 1938 ~ March 23, 2013 Anthony “Tony” S. Phillips, 75, died peacefully at home in Prescott Saturday March 23, 2013 surrounded by his family. Tony was born February 24, 1938 in Cleveland, OH to Albert and Dorothy (Yarham) Phillips. Tony was a true mountain man at heart and loved hunting, hiking, and everything outdoors. He ran the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon in his own boat four times, was very active in outdoor sports, and a member of the Colorado River Guide Association. He was also a member of the Yavapai County Jeep Posse, Yavapai County Contractors, Prescott Sportsmen Club, National Rifle Association, National Muzzleloaders Rifle Association, Powderhorn Clan, and Single Action Shooting Society (SASS). Tony is survived by his wife of 56 years Betty; sons Anthony (Veronica) Phillips of Apache Junction, AZ, Daniel Phillips of Prescott, AZ, Kenneth (Amity Beth) Phillips of Phoenix, AZ, Edward (Pamela) Phillips of Prescott, AZ, Steven (Theresa) Phillips of El Paso, TX; 10 siblings in OH and 1 sibling in GA; grandchildren Brianna Sue, Pamela Christine, Derrick, Alysha, Austin, Drue, Anthony II, and Lucia; great-grandchildren Hailey, Logan, Jedadiah, and Peyton. Tony was proudest of his wife and children and his entire family. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Chino Valley Shooting Facility via Prescott Sportsmen’s Club, Inc., PO Box 1087, Prescott AZ 86303-1087. Visitation: 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Monday, April 1, 2013 at Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home 303 S. Cortez St. Prescott AZ 86303. Rosary will begin at 6 p.m. Service: 11:00 am on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at St. Catherine Laboure Roman Catholic Mission 2062 N Highway 89 Chino Valley AZ 86323 Burial will be at a later date at the Arizona Pioneers' Home Cemetery 1300 Iron Springs Rd Prescott AZ 86303
