The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 03/29/2013 Raymond Logan peacefully entered his heavenly home March 15, 2013, with our Father in Elko, Nev. He lived a long happy life, celebrating his 90th birthday this past December. He was born in Aragon, N.M., Dec. 23,1922, to the late Cristobal and Ramona Logan. Raymond was a veteran of the United States Army. Raymond married Lugie Pena Oct. 17, 1950. Their marriage spanned over 62 years, raising six wonderful children in a loving and happy home. Raymond was preceded in death by his youngest son, Randy Samual Logan, “who left us all too early in life;” two brothers and one sister. They were there to walk with him toward the heavenly lights and welcome him to his new home. Raymond is survived by his loving wife Lugie Logan; children JoAnn and David Groves of Battle Mountain, Nev., Ray and Elizabeth Logan of Alamogordo, N.M., Carol and Ted Merrill of North Little Rock, Ark., Gerry and Paddie Logan of Battle Mountain, Nev., Larry and Penelope Logan of St. Johns. He is also survived by his sister, Priscilla Lucero of Soccorro, N.M. Raymond and Lugie were truly blessed with 21 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren, whom he loved and adored each one. The amount of his extended family and friends is endless; he never met anyone he didn’t like. “Although we will all truly miss him, his laugh, his humor and countless pranks will forever put a smile on our faces and the generations still to come.” Raymond was a proud Catholic and parishioner of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Springerville for many years. A rosary is scheduled for Thursday, April 4, at 7 p.m. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 5. He will be laid to rest April 6 in Alamogordo, N.M., at St. Jude’s Catholic Church with a small service.
