George W. Cotton, age 78, a 15-year resident of Fort Mohave, Ariz., passed away suddenly on Monday, March 11, 2013 following a brief illness.
He was born March 6, 1935 in Pensacola, Fla. to George W. Cotton, Sr. and Essie B. (Watson) Cotton.
George and his wife, Norma, retired to Fort Mohave, Ariz. in 1998, moving here from Hobbs, N. M. where George was the Director of Circulation at the Hobbs News-Sun. This concluded a long career in the newspaper business from Florida to Texas to Arkansas to New Mexico.
Throughout his life he was a major influence on those with whom he associated in the various businesses he pursued. He will be missed by all.
George is survived by his wife, Norma; eight children, Helen, Robert (Lynn), Peggy (Gary), Ronald, Linda, Cheryl (Jeffrey), Cynthia, and Charles (Irene); twenty grandchildren; thirty-two great-grandchildren; three sisters and their families; and numerous friends and other relatives.
George served many years as head usher at the Mohave Valley United Methodist Church, 1793 Lipan Blvd., Fort Mohave, Ariz. where memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 30, 2013.
