Mohave Daily News, Mohave Valley, AZ - Published in Mohave Daily News Online from March 26 to April 2, 2013 - Mary Carlene Wealand, age 77, a 26-year resident of Mohave Valley, Ariz., passed away at home on Monday, February 25, 2013. She was born November 5, 1935, in Cloud County, Kans., the daughter of Carl and Hazel McHenry. Mary graduated from Delphos High School in Delphos, Kans. in 1954. On June 4, 1954 she married Alfred Leon Wealand, of Glasco, Kans. In 1962 they moved to California and settled in La Verne, Calif., until retiring to Mohave Valley, Ariz. Mary enjoyed all types of craft projects. She also loved bowling and playing cards with her friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Hazel McHenry; and two brothers, Dale and Paul Dean McHenry. She is survived by her husband, Alfred Leon Wealand; three children, Jeri (Steve) Mihelic, Ken (Joanna) Wealand, and Ron (Mary Lou) Wealand; sister, Fern Willars; brother, Mark McHenry; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held on June 22, 2013 in Glasco, Kans. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society , P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73123-1718. .
