WILMOT, Donald Walter (Don)


Mohave Daily News, Mohave Valley, AZ - Published in Mohave Daily News Online from March 28 to April 4, 2013 - Donald Walter Wilmot, age 87 and a World War II Veteran, went home to our Lord on Thursday, March 21, 2013. He and his wife, June, resided in Bullhead City for over 30 years. Don was born February 22, 1926. He was the youngest of three boys born to George Wilmot and his mother, Pauline, in Los Angeles, Calif. On March 27, 1944 , at the age of 18, Don enlisted in the Navy. He served on the aircraft carrier, USS Steamer Bay, as a Coxswain in World War II where he was awarded seven medals. Don owned his own excavating business and worked as a boiler maker for many years. Don is survived by his wife, June; two sons, Larry (Sheri), and Rod Wilmot; seven granddaughters; 13 great-grandchildren; two nephews, Kenny and Greg Wilmot; and niece, Gail Scott. He will be missed and in our hearts always.
