Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Posted: Sunday, March 31, 2013 - Baldomero (Rick) Montez of Lake Havasu passed away peacefully with his family by his side, Tuesday, March 26, 2013 following a long illness. He is survived by his wife, Susan; daughters, Shelley and Brenda; sons, Ryan and Richard and grandchildren, Ashley, Darren, Brianne, Drake and Desiree. Born in El Paso, Texas, Aug. 20, 1938 Rick lived most of his life in Los Angeles working in the film industry for over 40 years. He retired to Lake Havasu in 2001 but his love of Hollywood continued through his passion for filmmaking, his video camera always by his side. He made several short films featuring Havasu residents and won awards at local film festivals. In addition to his film making talents, Rick was a gifted gardener. He also enjoyed hobbies including woodcarving, target shooting, boating and fishing. But his true love was spending time with his family and friends who will all dearly miss him.
