PRITCHETT, Herbert

West Valley View, Avondale, Arizona, Tuesday, April 02, 2013 Herbert Pritchett, 78, of Goodyear died Feb. 26, 2013, in Alice, Texas. Mr. Pritchett was born Dec. 17, 1934, in Beaver Creek Township, Ill., to Merel Pritchett. After some time in high School, he decided to join the Marine Corps at age 17. In the eight years he was enlisted, he served two tours of duty in the Korean conflict and spent the rest of his military career as a drill instructor for basic training. After his service in the military, he worked in a paper mill, did construction, was a foster parent and drove school buses. He is survived by his wife, Norma Pritchett; one son, Kenneth Pritchett; two daughters, Jane Trotter and Judy Tollios; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Services were held March 6 at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix.
