YANEZ, Alex

West Valley View, Avondale, Arizona, Tuesday, April 02, 2013 Alex Yanez, 87, of Buckeye died Feb. 22, 2013, in his home. Mr. Yanez was born June 10, 1925, in Palo Verde. He was honorably discharged from the Navy in 1944 and got married in 1947. He worked as a milker at Long's Dairy until it closed, then went to O'Malley's Lumber Yard and was a caretaker at St. Henry's Church until he retired. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and St. Henry's Church. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Erma Yanez; two daughters, Nellie Trujillo and Sandy Tarango; one sister, Ruth Cope; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
