YOUNG, Dennis Richard


The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona, Tuesday, April 02, 2013 Dennis Richard Young, 56, of Prescott, passed away on March 30, 2013 at home with his loving wife at his side. Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, April 5, 2013 at Prescott National Cemetery; Commander Dan Tillman officiating. Interment will follow at Prescott National Cemetery. Dennis was born in Berkeley, Calif. to Luke and Olga Mae Young on Nov. 16, 1956. He went to high school in Oakland, Calif. and joined the Army after high school where he became a Combat Engineer. After he came home, he moved to the state of Washington with his parents and worked in the welding industry. Dennis had a very warm spirit. He was always there when you needed a friend. He was a member of the American Legion, Post 6 in Prescott, Ariz. where he was an active with Post 6 Honor Guard and American Legion Riders. Dennis loved camping and riding his Harley. We will miss him dearly. Dennis is preceded in death by his father, Luke; and his mother, Olga Mae. Dennis is survived by his wife, Kathy of Prescott. Also surviving Dennis is his sister, Pam of Carrollton, Texas; and nephews Jeff (Karina) of Texas and Eric of California; his step-children, Jennifer Hill (Lamar), Andrew Hill (Stacy) and Brad Hill (Rachel); and his grandchildren, Drew, Kailee, Jayda, Madyson, Dylan and Nolan. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Northern Arizona Veterans Hospital and Hospice of the Pines. God saw fit to make us partners traveling down the road of Life.
