A celebration of life for Ron Sieg
Ron Sieg, 62, died April 1st, 2013 at Flagstaff Medical Center in Flagstaff, Arizona, following a long battle with cancer. Ron had recently retired after 12 years as Arizona Game and Fish Department Regional Supervisor in Flagstaff.
Ron was born in Long Beach, California and earned a B.S. in Natural Resources from Humboldt State University in Arcata, California and later earned an MBA from the University of South Dakota. He was lured to the Great Plains by a job with the BLM and then a mined land reclamation position with American Colloid Company. He was Regional Supervisor for South Dakota Department of Game, Fish and Parks in Rapid City, South Dakota before he and his wife Carolyn moved to Flagstaff in 2000.
Ron loved to camp and explore new country. He reveled in long road trips, and recently made his long-term goal of driving to Inuvic, Northwest Territories. His idea of a perfect trip was never spending more than one night in the same campground. He was a kind and gentle person with a wry sense of humor, a man of great integrity, an avid reader, and a decisive and organized leader. Ron led a very full, adventurous life and will be remembered as a trusted friend, a wonderful husband, and mentor to many.
In remembrance of Ron please consider donating blood, giving firewood or food to people in need, or contributing to the Adopt a Native Elder program (http://www.anelder.org), or Peregrine Fund (http://www.peregrinefund.org) .
Please join in a celebration of his life on Saturday, April 6th, at 11 am at Fort Tuthill Maricopa Ramada followed by a pot-luck luncheon.
