CROWTHER, Wesley Franklin (Frank)


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 04/05/2013 Wesley Franklin (Frank) Crowther, 77, died Monday, April 1, 2013, after a lengthy illness. Frank was born Feb. 27, 1936, in Albuquerque, N.M., to Clifford Frank Crowther and Rhoana Fish Crowther. Frank’s quick wit and gentle way brought a smile to the faces of all who met him. He was raised in Holbrook and was known for his basketball and track talents throughout high school and city and church play. He was also a great example of service to many through his church and community, including the Sheriff’s Posse, fire department and ambulance services. Frank’s hobbies included hunting, fishing, golf, fireworks and working in the outdoors; ranching was his greatest love. He worked several occupations throughout his life including truck driver, rancher, maintenance and transportation supervisor, cabinet builder, and business owner. His compassion and deep love and service to his family and friends were his greatest accomplishments. He is survived by his mother Rhoana Crowther of Gilbert; sons: Brett (Amelia) Crowther of Los Lunas, N.M., and David (Novella) Crowther, Albuquerque, N.M.; daughters: Darla (Jeff) Udall of Eagar, Tami (Tony) Castillo of Springerville and Beki (Trever) Johnson of Eagar; brothers: Tom Crowther of Flagstaff, Bobby Crowther of Holbrook, Jim Crowther of Taylor, Larry Crowther of Snowflake and Leland Crowther of Eagar; and sister Clara Hardy of Gilbert; 20 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Frank was preceded in death by his father Clifford Franklin Crowther Sr.; wife Patricia Sue Crowther; son Robert Seth Crowther; brother Clifford Franklin Crowther Jr.; and granddaughter Theresa Marie Crowther. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 6, at the Springerville Building of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Springerville with a visitation one hour prior to services.
