Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Posted: Wednesday, April 3, 2013 - Richard Ronald Moore Jr. passed away March 27, 2013 in Lake Havasu City, at the age of 79. He was born Sept. 22, 1933 in Los Angeles, Calif. to Richard Ronald Moore and Marjorie Bernice Ferris. He spent four years in the U.S.A.F. Rick as he was known by all his family and friends, married the love of his life, Coral, in 1957. He joined the Garden Grove Fire Department in 1960, retiring in 1984. Rick and his wife raised their three daughters in Orange County, Calif. The two moved to Lake Havasu City in 2007 where he joined several local organizations. Rick was an avid outdoorsman with an amazing zest for life, who loved sharing his enthusiasms with everyone. He enjoyed motorcycling, sailing, power boating, being a pilot and when he could no longer fly the real thing, building and flying R/C airplanes, target shooting, gold prospecting, driving street rods and classic cars. Rick was a member of Havasu Classics Car Club, SoCal Prowlers, Ercoupe Owners Club, Aircraft Owners and Pilots Assoc. He was in the process of restoring an antique Ercoupe in his garage. A member of the Elks, American Legion, Single Action Shooting Society, Havasu Sportsman Club, Gold Prospectors Assoc. of America, Desert Hawks R/C Flying Club and Havasu Sport Flyers Association, his wife was involved in everything he did. Rick will be greatly missed by his wife, family and many friends. A Celebration of Rick’s life will be at a later date. Rick is survived by his loving wife, Coral; daughters, Kristy (Ted) Decker, of Roseville, Calif., Elaine (Bill) White, of Central Point, Ore. and Darolee Pedroza, of Chula Vista, Calif.; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and sister Joann Woolf, of Orange, Calif.
