NEWELL, Sammy Dean

The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona, Monday, April 08, 2013 Sammy Dean Newell, 62, of Prescott, Ariz., passed peacefully on Good Friday, March 29, 2013 with family and friends at YRMC-West. He is survived by his son Koby Newell; daughter Monet Newell; brothers and sisters, Colleen Newell, Pat Newell, Dusty Newell, Mike Newell and Charles Newell. He was the family comedian and had an extremely compassionate heart and awesome sense of humor. He loved his cow dogs. From 1970 to 1976, he served in the U.S. Navy in Attack Squadron 83, where he accomplished many honorable roles, such as aviation structural mechanic, airman, metal-smith trouble-shooter. He was assigned to flight deck hazardous duty and was a 3rd class petty officer. He loved the outdoors and especially the Verde RV. He'll be sorely missed forever. His memories will never fade. A Memorial for Sam will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 13, 2013 at Fain Lake. Bring a potluck dish and memories to share. Information provided by survivors.
