ROBERTS, James Walter (Jim)


Kingman Daily Miner, Kingman, AZ - Published on April 10, 2013 - James Walter Roberts, 73, passed away peacefully in his home in Kingman on Friday, April 5, 2013. One of six children, he was born to Homer James and Judy Kathleen Roberts, May 19, 1939, in Kester, W.Va. Jim came to Kingman in 1984 from California and started a construction business. He was a 10-year veteran of the U.S. Navy and left as a petty officer 1st class and a Vietnam veteran. He loved animals, especially horses. Jim is lovingly survived by his wife of 55 years, Helen Roberts; and was the dear father of Timothy (Kathie) Roberts and Cherie Bauer of Kingman. He is also survived by his mother, Judy Park of Grantsville, W.Va.; a brother, Roy Roberts (Peggy) of Kingman; his sisters, Sue Richards of Grantsville, Barbara Johnson of Sand Ridge, W.Va., and Darlene Hayes of Akron, Ohio; four grandchildren, Jamie (Mike) Fitch, Nolan Bauer, Kristofer (Katie) Roberts and Stephanie (Jeff) Stoneberger; and seven great-grandchildren. The family wishes to thank the hospice nurses who took care of Jim. Everyone who came into contact with Jim and his family was so supportive. Thank you for making his last days comfortable. There will be a graveside service at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 13, at the Mountain View Cemetery, 1301 Stockton Hill Road, Kingman. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent in his memory to the Joan and Diana Hospice, 812 Airway Ave., Kingman, AZ 86409-3588.
