HARGIS, Stephan Gregory


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 04/12/2013 Stephan Gregory Hargis, born in Chicago, Ill., on Dec. 10, 1958, was living in Conway, Ark., when he passed away to be with his Lord March 11, 2013. Stephan graduated from the University of Central Arkansas with a degree in business management and had only recently returned to Conway because of his fondness for the area. However, his heart had remained in Snowflake, where he had lived 14 years and had many friends and family there who loved him dearly for his kind and gentle heart. He worked at the Snowflake School District with special needs children while in Snowflake and in Conway, he worked with special needs adults. He was always very active in the Catholic Church. He is survived by his mother Geraldine Kelley Hargis and siblings: Joseph (Maria) Hargis, Michael (Nena) Hargis, Claire St. George (Randy Henning), Catherine Rubright, Christina (Robert) Hesselton, Patrick Hargis, Carina (Dennis) Milligan, Anthony (Gwen) Hargis, Theodore (Pilar) Hargis, David (Sandy) Hargis, James (Victoria) Hargis, Consilia (Bruce) Lee, Robert Hargis and many nieces and nephews. He will also be greatly missed by close friends, Jock and Bonnie Heal and their son Tony, who loved Stephan deeply. He will be remembered always by all his family and many friends. Stephan was preceded in death by his father Ira Clair Hargis and his brother Nicholas Gerry Hargis. Services will be held Saturday, April 20, at Our Lady of the Snow Catholic Church with the rosary at 10 a.m. and services at 10:30 a.m. in Snowflake. Interment will be held at St. Mary of the Angels Columbarium. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in remembrance of Stephan to the American Diabetic Association.
