NORRIS, Robin D.

The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 04/12/2013 Robin D. Norris, 54, a resident of Chandler for 16 years, died April 3, 2013, at her home. She was born April 30, 1958, in Tucson. Robin’s early interests were rodeo, basketball and running track. She excelled in all sports and received a college scholarship to play basketball. She graduated college with a bachelor’s degree in business management from Ottawa University in Kansas. Robin moved to Safford, where she met and married her husband, Jeff Norris (August 1985). She also “lovingly inherited,” as she used to put it, Joshua, Jeff’s 2-year-old son. She and Jeff welcomed a son, Hunter V. Norris, in February 1991. Through the years, Robin excelled while working at the county courthouse for Graham County in Safford. The family moved to Chandler in 1997. There, Robin worked as an office manager in the electrical engineering field. During the last two years of her life, she dedicated herself to helping animals, in particular dogs, at the Friends for Life Animal Rescue Organization, a nonprofit institution. She also was the proud owner of two dogs of her own, Sneekerz and Shades, which she loved almost as much as her children. Robin is survived by her husband Jeff Norris; sons Hunter Norris and Josh Norris (wife Jessica Norris and grandsons Joshua and Zachary); sisters Sunny Wiltbank (husband Mike, daughter Jami and sons Milo and James), Shelley Sims Scott (daughter Meghan, son Tyler); brother Allen Hagen (wife Jennette and children Jillian and Joey) and niece Kayla Walker Aguilera (husband Raul and son Urijah). Robin was preceded in death by her mother Marion Scotten “Pat” Steen, father Robert Richard Sims and sister Mikie Lee Steen Walker. Funeral services for Robin will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 12, at Bueler Mortuary at 14 W. Hulet Drive in Chandler. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to the Friends for Life Animal Rescue of Gilbert, Arizona. Bueler Chandler Mortuary handled arrangements. Call (480) 963-8522.
