MAJESKA, Violet (Vi) M.

The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona, Friday, April 12, 2013 Violet M. Majeska, 94, went to be with her Lord Wednesday, March 27, 2013. She was born in San Francisco, Calif., April 25, 1918, to Peter and Frieda Loeber. In World War II, she contributed to the war effort as an ambulance driver for the Red Cross. In 1946, she married Navy veteran Walter H. "Hank" Majeska. Vi and Hank made their home in Castro Valley, Calif. There they raised their three children and foster daughter. In 1982, they relocated to their creekside home at Pine Lakes in Prescott, Ariz. Violet, a loving and committed mother, was always active with her children in church, Scouts and the PTA. Her passions were traveling, sewing, cooking and quilting. She enjoyed gardening, nature, water aerobics, the ocean and guessing cloud formations. Vi had a very kind, nurturing nature. She was beloved and will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched. She is survived by her children Lyle (Sharon) Majeska of La Puente, Calif., Kathy (Bill) Thrift of Prescott, Melinda (Jim) Szafranski of Peoria, Ariz., and foster daughter Apryl (Philip) Dowse of Hesperia, Calif.; niece Michelle (Steve) Hujar of Naperville, Ill.; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
