HENDRICK, Alvie Delano

West Valley View, Avondale, Arizona, Friday, April 19, 2013 Alvie Delano Hendrick, 79, of Litchfield Park died April 4, 2013, in Sun City. Mr. Hendrick was born March 10, 1934, in Tuskahoma, Okla., to Ivan Hendrick and Margaret Farmer Hendrick. He moved to Arizona at a young age and settled with his family in the Buckeye area, where he attended elementary school and graduated from Buckeye Union High School. He moved to Litchfield Park in 1972. He served in the army and played for the army basketball team. He retired in 1990 from Arizona Public Service Co. as district manager after 35 years. He is survived by his wife, Sonja Kwis Hendrick; one daughter, Diane Islava of Palos Verdes Estates, Calif.; one brother, Corky Hendrick; and one grandchild. A celebration of life luncheon will be at noon May 18 at the Eagle's Nest Clubhouse in PebbleCreek, 3645 Clubhouse Drive in Goodyear.
