Kathryn Isabelle Cheyne passed away Friday evening, April 12, at the Hospice Polidori House. Her husband Virgil preceded her in death in 1999. Born in Livingston, Mont., she subsequently moved to Canada with her parents prior to them settling in Seattle, Wash. By this time she had three sisters, each of which preceded her in death. Before marrying her husband, a Seattle dentist, she was employed for several years by Sears & Roebuck as their head cashier. After retiring in 1978, she moved to Arizona with her husband and resided in Apache Junction before moving to Mesa. To make family closer her final move was to Lake Havasu City in 2009.
Kathryn was active in several organizations, Order of the Eastern Star, Daughters of the Nile, Daughters of the American Revolution, the Red Hat Society, to name a few. Following her interest in developing a family tree she successfully traced her roots back to a relative that came to America on the infamous ship the Mayflower. Her interests also included playing the piano, square dancing, making sketches of objects that caught her interest and arts and crafts projects.
Loving to travel, she and her husband also visited several foreign countries, including Russia.
Kathryn had no children and is survived by nephews, Dohn (Diane) DeLarm and family and Riley (Diane) Heron of Lake Havasu City, Michael (Pam) Heron and family of Nordland, Wash., Robert Wagner and family of Phoenix, and nieces Kathy Wagner and Tiler Cameron of Kelso, Wash. There is also a cousin living in Canada, William McClarty.
She had a full and active life and will be missed by all who have been blessed to know her.
