Billy Don Garrison was born Jan. 16, 1934, to Earnest and Grace Garrison in Fairfax, Okla. He was 79.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents Earnest and Grace Garrison and daughters Jeanine Elizabeth Garrison and Lisa Marie Garrison.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years Jermon Garrison; daughters: Laurie Allen (David), Sheri Peter (Mike) ,both of Sapulpa, Okla.; son Donald Garrison (Debbie) of Sperry, Okla.; son William Garrison (Robyn) of Tulsa, Okla; grandchildren: John Reed (Christine), Roger Reed (Amber), Rachel Waters, Sarah Peter, Kirk Garrison, Kelli Garrison, Heather Garrison, William Garrison Jr., Kyndel McElhattan and Ashleigh McElhattan; and great grandchildren: Joseph Fox, Trey Reed, Nicole Reed, Elizabeth Reed, Matthew Reed, Michael Reed, Paul Waters, Michael Waters, James Waters and Liam Peter.
Billy made a profession of faith at age 16. He served as deacon in several churches and was Deacon Emeritus at Canyon Road Baptist Church. Billy served his country in the United States Army. He attended College at Arizona State University. He formed a partnership with his father, forming Garrison and Son Logging in Arizona until moving to Tulsa in 1972, where he began working in the trucking industry until he retired at the age of 62. Billy was best known for his love for the Lord, his family and serving in his Southern Baptist Church. He was a longtime member of the Red Fork Baptist Church in Tulsa, Okla., and is currently a member of the Canyon Road Baptist Church. He was overly generous, loved a good joke and had a good sense of humor. He loved to tell stories and sometimes was good story-telling material. He will be greatly missed by all.
Funeral services were held April 17 at the Canyon Road Baptist Church in Tulsa, Okla., with Pastor Mike Peter officiating.
Interment was held at the Fort Gibson National Cemetery in Fort Gibson, Okla.
Mark Griffith Memorial Funeral Home - Westwood Chapel in Tulsa, Okla., handled arrangements.
