The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 04/23/2013 Zane Olsen, 80, of Broken Bow, Okla., died Dec. 16, 2012, at the Broken Bow (Oklahoma) Health and Rehab Center. She was born Mary Zane Mann on Dec. 8, 1932, in Springerville, the daughter of Laura and Felix Mann. She was married Oct. 8, 1949, to Jack Pierce. Six sons were born to them. Zane returned to school, receiving her associates degree after her children were grown. She worked in the medical field in California for many years. On July 28, 1974, she married Delbert Olsen. She was a good stepmother and grandmother to Delbert’s family. She was a devout Lutheran and a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. Zane enjoyed playing guitar, piano and violin, collecting rocks, singing, dancing, and baking, especially candy and doughnuts. Zane was proceeded in death by her parents, husbands Jack Pierce and Delbert Olsen; sons Steve and Johnny Pierce and sister Zelma Stonebraker. She leaves to cherish her memory her four sons and one daughter-in-law; Mike Pierce, Darryl Pierce, Sam and Natalie Pierce, and Ethan Pierce, all of Broken Bow, Okla.; sisters Zena Elmore of Eagar, Zola Brashers of Bakersfield, Calif., and Laura (Evan) Bigelow of Eagar; grandchildren: Katie Jones, Michael Pierce, Steven Pierce, Zachary Pierce, Sicily Bray, Shiloh McCoy, Amber Pierce, Amanda Pierce, Jeremy Pierce, Chelsea Rowell and Allen Pierce; many great-grandchildren and a host of friends and relatives. Zane was always full of life and fun. She was a beautiful, enthusiastic lady loved by all her family and many friends. Funeral services were held Dec. 19, 2012, at the Brumley Funeral Chapel in Broken Bow, Okla., with a memorial service Dec. 21, 2012, at Burnham Mortuary Chapel in Eagar. Interment followed at the Springerville Cemetery. Burnham Mortuary of Eagar handled arrangements.
