Manuel A. Mancha, age 81, a 23-year resident of Bullhead City, Ariz., passed away on Thursday, April 4, 2013 in Bullhead City, Ariz.
Manuel was born (1932) in Big Springs, Texas, and was raised in Los Angeles, Calif. and was a veteran of the Korean War. He retired to Bullhead City 23 years ago from Northrop.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Ruth Mancha; daughter, Dennese Scofield; two grandsons, James "Baci" Bacigalupo of Bullhead City, and Matthew G. Scofield of West Covina, Calif.; sister, Angie Romo of Monterey Park, Calif.; and many, many nieces and nephews.
I want to honor my grandfather today who was not only a veteran, but the only POW/MIA survivor living in Bullhead City. I honor him because if it wasn't for his strength, fortitude and will to survive and come back to his family and loved ones, I would not be here today to know and love the ones I hold dear to my heart, and to honor his sacrifices with continuing to live the life he helped give me by surviving his ordeal. I love him for being a rock in my life and I will remember him for the rest of my life.
