Mohave Daily News, Mohve Valley, AZ - Published in Mohave Daily News Online from April 10 to April 24, 2013 - Valarie Corti Phillips, age 56, a 25-year resident of Mohave Valley, Ariz., passed away Monday, April 1, 2013, in Mohave Valley. Valarie was born in Granada Hills, Calif. on October 5, 1956. Valarie was a registered nurse who touched many people's lives. She was preceded in death by her sister, Kathy Corti Smith; brother, Mario Corti; and her grandparents, Inez and Thomas V. Pearson, Sr. She is survived by her parents, Eileen and Mario Corti; daughter, Gia Shafer; sons, Casey Phillips, and Derrick (Jaque) Phillips; grandchildren, Jeremy and Savannah Shafer, Cade, Cyler and Cameron Phillips, Seth, Becca and Tessa Phillips; sisters, Kerry Sammut, Gerry Santamoro; brothers, James Corti, Peter Corti, Mark Corti, Dan Corti and Patrick Corti; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. There will be a celebration of life at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at the Willow Valley Club House, 549 E. Gordon Dr., Willow Valley, Ariz.
