Carolyn (Nunn) Williams, 59 of Gilbert, Arizona; formerly of Springfield, Illinois; lost her battle with pancreatic cancer on May 18, 2007.
Carolyn Elaine Williams was born November 15, 1947 in Jacksonville, Illinois. She was the daughter of Kenneth and Julia (Albers) Nunn of Naples, IL.
She married Richard Williams on October 7, 1967 in Meredosia, IL and they resided most of their married life in the greater central Illinois area. She is survived by her husband, Richard; two children, Shane Williams (wife Marcie) of Gilbert, AZ, and Darre' Porter (husband Todd) of Gold Canyon, AZ. She was the proud "Ma" of four grandchildren, Ella and Garrett Williams; and Hayden and Mackenzie Porter. She is survived by two sisters, Norma Jessen (husband Darwin "Jess") of Peachtree City, GA; and Joyce Clagg (husband Gregory) of Palmyra, IL. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Carolyn and Richard, husband and wife of nearly 40 years, moved to Arizona in 2003. She was employed by the Higley Unified School District. Carolyn was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She loved her family and put everyone else first. Carolyn had a big heart that would warm your soul and will be truly missed by her family and friends. At the end of her journey she was at peace through her faith in God's plan.
A celebration of Carolyn's life will begin in Arizona with a gathering at 12:00 p.m. followed by a service at 1:00 p.m. on June 5, 2007 at Sun Lakes United Methodist Church where she was a member. Memorial services in Illinois will begin with a gathering starting at 12:00 p.m. followed by a service at 1:00 p.m. on June 8, 2007 at Bisch Funeral Home West in Springfield, Illinois. Interment will be a private ceremony at Camp Butler National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial be made in her name to the American Cancer Society or Hospice of the Valley in Phoenix, AZ. Mariposa Gardens handled the arrangements (480) 830-4422
