Mary Anne McHenry Bamrick, long-time Arizona resident, passed away on April 22, 2013, at her home in Sun Lakes, Ariz., in the loving care of her family. She was born on May 4, 1931, in Detroit, Mich., to Robert (Earl) and Mary McHenry.
Mary Anne was a great educator with her teaching career spanning over 30 years. She retired in 1993, as the first female president of Yavapai College.
She is survived by her sons, Edward E. Bamrick of Fort Worth, Texas, and Robert D Bamrick of Gilbert, Ariz.; their wives, Sonja and Sheri; six grandchildren, Robert E. Bamrick, Melanie N. Bamrick Parker, Jamie L. Bamrick, Thomas A. Bamrick, Jake R. Bamrick and Josh R. Bamrick; and four great-grandchildren, Isabella Bamrick, Logan Parker, Ashlynn Parker and Ian Parker; and brother, Robert E. McHenry of Huntington Beach, Calif.
A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Thursday, April 25, 2013, at Sun Valley Community Church, 456 E. Ray Road, Gilbert, Ariz.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Hospice of the Valley, 2020 E. Woodside Court, Gilbert AZ 85297-7339.
