Teresa Jean (Jeanne) Jezick Wainio -- beautiful daughter, sister, aunt, and friend -- lost her battle with cancer April 3.
Jeanne will be remembered for her lifelong love of animals, her generosity at Christmas, and for being like a second mother to her nieces and nephews.
She was born Dec. 5, 1949 to Charles and Janet Jezick in Brownwood, Texas. She grew up in Helena, Mont., and Portland, Ore.
She graduated from Sunset High School in Portland and did advanced courses in nursing while working at Dammasch State Hospital in Wilsonville, Ore., for 10 years.
She worked at American Express after moving to Phoenix in 1992.
She was preceded in death by her father Charles Jezick and husbands David Wainio and Bob Tomlinson.
She is survived by her mother Janet Jezick; brother Charles Jezick; sisters Donna Snyder and Judee Woodbury (Sid) and her six nieces and nephews: Michel Glaze (Gary), Paul Woodbury (Kim), Zack Woodbury, Jeff Snyder (Debbie), Greg Snyder (Renee), and Kim Grafel; her 10 grand nieces and nephews.
She is also survived by her 20-year-old kitty “Earl Grey,” who misses her terribly.
Services were held for Jeanne on April 7 at David’s Desert Chapel and Funeral Home in Wickenburg.
