The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 04/26/2013 Riney Maxwell, 76, died Sunday, March 31, 2013, in Lakeside. He was born Feb. 24, 1937, in Phoenix. Riney grew up in the Phoenix area and graduated from West High. He worked in fishing- and wildlife-related fields until the early '70s, when he began to pursue his passion as an outfitter and hunting guide. This path allowed him to explore most of Arizona and much of Utah, New Mexico and Colorado. He was never happier than when leading a pack train into a new wilderness area to set up a hunting camp. His love and respect for the great outdoors was immense. Even when he was no longer able to hunt and fish, he was a source of friendship, hospitality and inspiration to his family and friends. Riney is survived by his wife Debbie; sons Riney Jr. and Tyler; daughter Pamela and brothers Erwin and David. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Dorothy Maxwell. “Husband, father, brother and friend: goodbye and God bless.”
