Augusta Marie Cobb
(August 14, 1921 - April 25, 2013)
A. Marie Cobb passed away April 25, 2013 in Snowflake, AZ where she resided in the loving care of Webb's Adult Care Home so she could be close to her daughter for her last few months of life.
She was born to the late Alouis and Viola Novak, August 14, 1921 in Lincoln, Nebraska. She married her high school sweetheart, the late Lucas Cobb in 1940. They lived in the Roll and Yuma area since 1952.
Marie was known for the beautiful crocheted items she made that could be qualifed as museum quality. It was not uncommon to see her pull out yards and yards of thread if she happened to notice she had missed a stitch. Marie and Luke farmed in the Roll area and Marie worked briefly as a secretary at Mohawk Valley Elementary School and at the First National Bank in Wellton for many years until they sold the farm, retired and took off on many trips wherever the north wind happened to blow Luke's attention.
Marie is survived by her daughter, Janet Stuart of Snowflake, Arizona; granddaughter, Jennifer Carrington of Everett, Washington; grandson, Michael Stuart of Gilbert, Arizona; great-granddaughter Kirsten Stuart; and her brother, James Novak of Tucson, Arizona.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lucas Cobb Sr.; her son, Lucas Cobb, Jr.; her brother, Lawrence Novak; her brother, Robert Novak; her sister, Eleanor Leonesio and her sister, Louise Krull.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, May 7th at 10 a.m. at Sunset Vista Cemetary in Fortuna Hills.
In lieu of flowers please make donations to your favorite charity.
