Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Posted: Wednesday, April 24, 2013 - Shirley Rae (Watson) Hunt, 84, passed away in the comfort of her own home April 5, 2013 with her six children by her side. She was born June 6, 1928, in Plainfield, N.J., to Peter and Mildred Aagaard. Shirley lived in Cranford, N.J., until she married LeRoy Watson. Together they moved to Blythe, Calif., in 1955, where she raised her seven children. In 1980, she moved to Lake Havasu City where she worked at Safeway until she retired in 1993. Shirley was an avid animal lover and loved to travel and see her children in several different states. She will be deeply missed and always loved. Shirley is survived by her children, Peter R. Watson, Donna M. Kozar, Gwen D. Baier, Rex A. Watson, Rory J. Watson and Aletta D. Downey; sister, Barbara Crissy; four half siblings; 13 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; four step kids and nine step great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Rae Watson and her parents, Peter and Mildred Aagaard. Memorial service will be at Lake Havasu Mortuary Chapel Saturday, April 27, at 2 p.m., with Chaplain Sandra Johnson officiating.
