Prescott Courier, Prescott, Arizona Thursday, December 12, 1974 Harold Tope, former postal worker Harold Tope, 75, died Tuesday. He was born on July 24, 1899 in Rockwood, Ill., and was the postmaster and country store owner in Lilbourn, Ill., before moving to Arizona 35 years ago. He had worked in the Prescott Post Office for 30 years and was a member and former Elder of the Miller Valley Church of Christ. Mr. and Mrs. Tope celebrated their golden anniversary in 1972. Survivors include his widow, Sophia; five sons, Allen and Leroy of Phoenix, Eugene of Durban, South Africa, Joseph of Scottsdale, and Robert in the U.S. Navy in Naples Italy; 21 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three brothers, Harry of Marion, Ind., William of Lilbourn, Ill. and Leslie of Arkadelphia, Ark.; one sister, Mrs. Katie Crosnor of Lilbourn, Ill. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday at Memory Chapel with burial to follow at Mountain View Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at Memory Chapel.
