Robert B. Culver, 53, was found deceased at his residence in Prescott, Ariz., on Feb. 27, 2013. He had been diagnosed some years earlier with chronic fatigue syndrome - a neurological disorder of the central nervous system in which he struggled and fought gallantly against its debilitating pain on a daily basis.
"Rob" or "Robbie," as he was known by his friends and family, was born to Elmer R. Culver and Betty Nell Culver (Montgomery) on Nov. 20, 1959, in Glasgow, Mont. Robbie's family moved from Glasgow to Phoenix and then to Prescott in 1964, where he attended both elementary and high school, graduating with the class of 1977.
It was years later that he became interested in and pursued various small businesses, which subsequently led to the opening of two successful video stores in Prescott Valley in the mid-1980s. He remained in the business for approximately 10 years. Following that, he became involved in both ownership and management of different rental properties throughout the area.
Rob's favorite hobby was gunsmithery, at which be became very proficient, pridefully completing some very impressive and notable pieces of work.
Rob is survived by his daughter Richelle Culver of Pittsburg, Kan.; his mother Betty Nell Montgomery of Prescott; a brother Richard Culver (Patricia) of Prescott; and two nephews, Ian Culver of Prescott Valley and Richie Culver (Kim) of Kempner, Texas.
Rob was preceded in death by his father, Elmer R. Culver, on April 9, 2000.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. May 3, 2013, at the American Lutheran Church, 1085 Scott Drive, Prescott.
