Gary D. Cook, born in Pomona, Calif., on Sept. 3, 1951, passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2013. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fern Lane and Herman Cook.
Gary is survived by his daughter, Melissa (Aaron) Searan; and grandson, Nathan Searan, all of Kingman; his brother, Dave (Cheri) Cook of Wrightwood, Calif.; his sister, Sandy (Jimmy) Gilmore of Ridgecrest, Calif.; and his estranged daughter, Stephanie.
Gary served in the Navy and was stationed in Yokosuka, Japan. He had previously worked for Kerr-McGee in California and many of the casinos in Laughlin, Nev. He was working for KART in Kingman until his retirement in December of 2012.
Gary was a devoted father, grandfather and brother who loved to spend time with his family. His hobbies included reading, cards and games of all types.
The memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, May 4, at Desert Lawn Funeral Home, 9250 S. Ranchero Lane, Mohave Valley. All of those who would like to come and celebrate his life are welcome.
