Evelyn "Janette" Amator, 81, of Tolleson died April 25, 2013.
Mrs. Amator was born Jan. 21, 1932, in Tolleson to Jeff "Buster" Hardin and Gladys Spain Hardin.
She attended Tolleson Elementary and Buckeye High School, where she lettered in tennis and cheerleading and was voted Most Popular Girl her senior year.
She moved to San Diego in 1949 at age 18, where she had a brief marriage to Robert Van Liere. In 1954, she married Homer Gene Brisbin.
After 24 years of marriage, Janette and Homer divorced.
In 1979, she married William "Fritz" Amator and they lived in Tolleson. She worked as a clerk for the Littleton Elementary District for many years.
She is survived by two sons, Steve Brisbin of Lakewood, Calif., and Tracy Brisbin of Peoria; one brother, Jeff "Bud" Hardin of Wickenburg; five stepchildren, Tricia Beattie, Brett Amator, Lonnie Amator, Kim Grandy and Piper Jenkins; 22 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be at 10 a.m., with a memorial service at 11 a.m. today at Greenwood Memory Lawn Mortuary, 719 N. 27th Ave. in Phoenix.
A graveside service will immediately follow.
Funeral services were arranged by Greenwood Memory Lawn Mortuary.
