SMITH, Evelyn Maxine

West Valley View, Avondale, Arizona, Friday, May 03, 2013 Evelyn Maxine Smith, 88, of Litchfield Park died April 29, 2013. Mrs. Smith was born in Lexington, Ky., and raised in West Virginia. At the age of 18, she moved to Akron, Ohio, and worked at the Goodyear Aircraft defense plant where she painted the Vought F4U Corsair fighter aircraft. There, she met and married Joseph Smith. After the war, Goodyear transferred them to the Litchfield Park Goodyear Aircraft facility. She is survived by three children, Joseph, Martha and Mary Ann; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Private family services will be at The Church at Litchfield Park.
