Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Posted: Wednesday, May 1, 2013 - Carol Ann Goddard Nunley passed away April 27, 2013 in Lake Havasu City. Carol was born Sept. 12, 1939, to Alfred Rand and Isabel Mae (Graham) Goddard in Long Beach, Calif. She was raised in Norwalk and graduated from Excelsior High School. Carol married her soul mate, Richard Bruce (Dick) Nunley Sept. 13, 1957, and was married 51 years. They resided in Norwalk, Calif.; after spending two years in Phoenix, they returned to Norwalk, eventually settling in La Mirada. Carol was employed by Public Finance for over 10 years, moved on to mortgage banking and then became a very successful Realtor. For years the family spent a great deal of time at Lake Havasu City and moved here permanently in 1997 where Carol became employed by Keller Williams Arizona Living Realty. Carol loved spending time with her family and friends, gardening, traveling, camping and water skiing. She attended Calvary Baptist Church of Lake Havasu City. She is survived by her son, Rick (Lorrie) Nunley, of La Mirada, Calif.; daughter, Holli (Milo) Afusia, of Lake Havasu City; brother, Gary (Christine) Goddard, of Ooltewah, Tenn.; sister, Linda Lem Mon of Oak Harbor, Wash.; grandchildren, Sarah Steik and Katie Marchetti, both of La Mirada, Calif.; great-grandchildren, Taylor and Bella Marchetti, of La Mirada, and Tamilo (Junior) Afusia, of Lake Havasu City. Carol was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard “Dick” Nunley; mother, Isabel Goddard Hinson; stepfather, Lester Hinson; father, Bill Goddard, and stepmother, Betty Goddard. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Calvary Baptist Church in Carol’s honor.
