VAN PELT, Sharon Kay


Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Posted: Wednesday, May 1, 2013 - Sharon Kay Van Pelt passed away April 27, 2013 at her residence in Lake Havasu City with her husband by her side. Sharon was born on Dec. 11, 1940, in Deadwood, S.D. Following graduation from high school, Sharon attended college for two years, and then became a stewardess for the airlines. After eight years as a stewardess, Sharon and her first husband opened a travel agency. They owned the agency for 10 years and traveled to many far-away and exotic places. Sharon and her current husband, Jeff, were married in Laughlin in 2001 and a year later, made Lake Havasu City their permanent home. The two enjoyed many hours on the Lake in their pontoon boat and meeting with friends at The Elks Lodge, where they were members. Sharon is survived by her loving husband, Jeff Van Pelt; son, Scout Shannon, of Austin, Texas; and her brother, Larry Burrington, of Kalamazoo, Mich.
