In 1967, she met and married Clarence G. Royer. They had two children together.
Hazel dropped out of school after the eighth grade due to rheumatic fever.
She always wanted her diploma, so in 1988 she obtained her GED through Mohave Community College and continued on to obtain an associate's degree.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Vivian Doyle; her brother, Charles Doyle of Washington state; her husband, Clarence Royer; two great-grandchildren; and several loved cats, including her beloved SnowMeow.
